It has yet to be confirmed if Heizou will make their debut in update 2.7 or 2.8, as there have already been two new characters confirmed for the former. Shikanoin Heizou is a Detective of the Tenryou Commission. He was first mentioned in-game by Kano Nana, who is a distant elder cousin of Heizou. His element is Anemo, which means Heizou shares an elemental class with Jean, Venti, and Xiao, among others. Heizou’s constellation is Cervus Minor.

At first glance, Heizou seems like an ordinary young man, but he is actually the undisputed number one detective in the Tenryou Commission. Not only does he possess a wild imagination, but he also has a mind for meticulous logic and reasoning, as well as an extraordinary sense of intuition when it comes to solving cases. Whenever a crime occurs, his colleagues rely on experience to help them with handling the case, but Heizou brings in an out-of-the-box perspective and gets straight to the crux of the case. People are impressed by his razor-sharp intuition, thinking that his reasoning ability and efficiency are godlike. Here, Heizou would simply reply with his signature smile: “I don’t know, maybe this is something that even the gods can’t do!”

Shikanoin Heizou is categorized as an upcoming character, but it is not yet clear when they’ll debut. Genshin Impact’s next update, 2.7, has been delayed due to the COVID lockdown in China. But, as soon as it launches, it will debut Yelan and Kuki Shinobu. It’s possible that Heizou will join them for 2.7, but it’s just as likely he’ll make his debut in update 2.8.
