How to Complete the Heart of Watatsumi in Genshin Impact

How to Complete the Heart of Watatsumi in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact 2.1 introduces Watatsumi Island, another mysterious island of the Inazuma region. There are a few world quests here, one of which comes from Shrine Miaden Tsuyuko. It requires us to collect several Spirit Pearls, which entails solving several puzzles in true Genshin Impact fashion. As always, some of these can be a little tricky to figure out, so we’re here to help with the process. Here’s how to collect all the Spirit Pearls and complete the Heart of Watatsumi in Genshin Impact.

First, find Tsuyuko near the Statue of the Seven on Watatsumi Island. She should have a world quest available for you, and that’s where this chain begins. She will task you with collecting four Spirit Pearl from various areas around the island, which will eventually lead you to the Heart of Watatsumi.

Eye of Watatsumi

Use vision to find the three eyes around the island. Find them with your vision in the south, north, and west. Attack them to break them, and when you break all three, you can loot the Spirit Pearl from the Shrine.

Fang of Watatsumi

Activate the monolith, and protect it for 300 seconds. An easy way to beat this one is to leave one weak unit standing and zone it off from attacking the monolith. It does not matter how many enemies you defeat; the monolith just needs to be standing at the end of the 300 seconds. When it is complete, you can grab Spirit Pearl from the Shrine.

In the next area, you’ll find a few platforms with three fish statues on them. Rotate the fish statues to all face the center of the platform. The platform will glow blue when the statue faces the right direction. When all three are facing the center, pay your respects to the statue. You can then obtain the next Spirit Pearl from the Shrine.

Tail of Watatsumi

For this part, you must summon the Electrogranum nearby the Shrine. You will need to defeat a few enemies beforehand. With the Electrogranum active, light up all the stone statues as quickly as possible. There is a time limit here, but you can just summon the Electrogranum and try again if you fail. When successful, you will need to defeat some Fatui ambushers.  Finally, you can grab the last Spirit Pearl from the Shrine. The next part takes you to the heart of Watatsumi.

After obtaining all four Spirit Pearls, you can begin on the Heart of Watatsumi. Return to Sangonomiya Shrine and speak with Tsuyuko. She will instruct you to open the gate to the “Heart of Watatsumi.” Follow the marker to the location, and interact with the Seal of the “Heart.” Submit all four Spirit Pearls to open the seal.

When the seal is open, you can enter the area. You’ll find a few platforms similar to the ones you completed for the Fin of Watatsumi. Do the same thing for all the platforms; rotate the fish statues to face the center and then pay your respects.

It can be a bit tough because a lot of hydro enemies will spawn after completing each platform. After successfully activating all of the platforms, you will need to fight off a few waves of the same enemies. They can hurt a bit, so have some heals handy. A cutscene will play after clearing the enemies, and you can obtain the Key of the Deep.

Speak with Tusyuko, who will thank you for your help. You will also get a mysterious Key of the Moon-bathed Deep as part of your reward. It is “a strange treasure with an awkward name. It is said to have been forged from the blood of Watatsumi Omikami.” Tsuyuko says it is something we will need to open the entrance to Enkanomiya, according to legends…
