The next chapter of Genshin Impact is here, and the Golden Apple Archipelago has revealed a whole new stretch of land. The ocean levels have decreased around the new zone, and there are some new mysteries to discover. One of these mysteries involves using the new Wind-Blessed Harpastum Gadget to reveal a hidden cave. We put together this guide to provide you with the Genshin Impact Broken Isle puzzle solution, with a walkthrough for successfully solving this mystery.

Before you can access this puzzle, make sure you play through the necessary main story quest to access the latest portion of the Golden Apple Archipelago, which includes the new future boss platform in the central part of the map.

Genshin Impact Broken Isle Puzzle Solution

1. Go to Broken Isle and find the mysterious painted rock
2. Equip the Wind-Blessed Harpastum gadget and destroy the rock
3. Enter the cave and take a photo of the wall drawing
4. Adjust the water levels of the five ponds
5. Step on the five stone pillars in the proper order

Destroy the rock using the Wind-Blessed Harpastum

First, make sure to equip your Wind-Blessed Harpastum gadget from your bag. Once you have that, teleport to the Broken Isle waypoint and head west. You will come across a painting on the stone, which we’ll need to destroy with the gadget. Next, activate your Wind-Blessed Harpastum device by pressing Z and press E to throw a bomb. It can actually be kind of confusing, but think of the Harpastum like a bouncy ball. Keep bouncing it all the wall until it’s destroyed.

Take a photo of the wall drawings

Enter the cave, and you’ll see a painting on the wall. Walk up to it and observe the wall. Then, snap a picture of the drawings in photo mode. The image represents the water levels of five different ponds across the map: Northwest Pond, West Pond, Center Pond, East Pond, Northeast Pond. You must adjust the water levels accordingly by going to these areas and interacting with different objects.

Adjust the water levels of the five ponds

Each pond contains three water level markings. You can interact with the stones next to each pond to change the water levels. Make sure you change them all to match the drawings on the wall.

Northwest Pond

The northwest pond should be filled halfway.

West Pond

The west pond should be completely filled. It may already be filled, in which case you do not need to do anything.

Center Pond

The center pond should be at the lowest mark.

East Pond

The east pond should be filled halfway.

Northeast Pond

The northeast pond should be at the lowest mark. If you have trouble figuring out how to get the water into the pond, look for some breakable rocks above. Destroy the rocks blocking the water flow, and the pond will fill.

Pillar sequence

Finally, you’ll need to the north of the Broken Isle teleport waypoint until you find five pillars and stones. The Broken Isle puzzle solution for the pillars requires you to step on the stones in the following order:

1. South
2. West
3. Northeast
4. Northwest
5. East
