As of February 1, players can now pre-install the core version files for the new update. It may be a good idea to pre-install everything, so you can immediately play 1.3 when it releases. Mobile users can also pre-install the files by going to Settings on iOS and Android, tapping on Other, and going to Pre-install Resource Package.

Genshin Impact Version 1.3 Update

Genshin Impact version 1.3 will feature lots of new events, a new playable five-star character, a new mob type, weapons, and lots more. Here’s a look at the official miHoYo trailer “All That Glitters.”

Lantern Rite

Genshin Impact‘s Lantern Rite event releases on February 3, 2021. Keqing’s rate-up banner will release a few weeks later, on February 17.

Adventurers will return to Liyue for the Lantern Festival to participate in various challenges and obtain some event-exclusive rewards. We don’t know what’s coming, but we’ll be posting a guide for you to follow along with when the event releases.

Banners

  • Xiao Banner: February 3 – February 17
  • Keqing Banner: February 17 – March 2
  • Weapon Banner: February 17 – March 2

Xiao Banner

Xiao’s main story quest will become available at the start of version 1.3 and coincides with the Lantern Rite Event. Adventurers don’t need to worry about having any keys because you won’t need them, similar to the Albedo storyline.

Look out for the Invitation to a Mundane Life featured character banner for Xiao on February 3, alongside the version 1.3 update. Check out our guide on Xiao ascension materials if you plan to pull for him.

Keqing Banner

Keqing’s banner releases in the game on February 17, a few weeks after Lantern Rite’s launch. Travelers have a higher chance to pull a Keqing from the new banner, the Dance of Lanterns.

Epitome Invocation

Upcoming weapon banner features two five-star weapons, including Primordial Jade Cutter and Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. The 4-star weapons are yet to be announced.

Five Flushes of Fortune

Another event has travelers put their photography skills to the test. You’ll have to hunt for photos of different enemies, animals, and much more with the Kurious Kamera available from the Five Flushes of Fortune event.

Ji Tong seems to be puzzling over a seemingly faulty Kamera. He had hoped it would lend a distinctive tone to his photos, but all it seems to produce is colorful nonsense…

Primo Geovishaps

A new type of mob known as the Primo Geovishap will arrive at the new event. They will likely drop some new kind of reward or material, which could be exclusive to the event. The mystical beast is awesomely powerful and has grown accustomed to changes in its elemental environment.

The Adventurers’ Guild has collected much information on the dangerous Geovishaps in recent days. Katheryne of Liyue Harbor is currently commissioning adventurers to investigate further.

Living Beings Archive

Travelers can access a new type of system in Genshin Impact version 1.3, which includes a running log of every enemy you have encountered. View extra stats like how many times you defeated them, their stats, and more.

Character Showcase

Another new system is known as the Character Showcase and allows travelers to show off their favorite team compositions or characters.

New Items

A few new items will be making their way into the Genshin Impact version 1.3 update, including some new weapons and an item allowing you to convert resources.

Weapons

  • Primordial Jade Cutter: 5-star Sword
  • Staff of Homa: 5-star Polearm
  • Lithic Blade: 4-star Claymore
  • Lithic Spear: 4-star Polearm

There are two new five-star Legendary weapons coming to the game. A green glowing one-hand sword is shown in the hands of Xingqiu, and another new polearm is shown in the hands of Xiangling. We may likely see a few more, but those details are not available at this time.

Parametric Transformer

Parametric Transformers are a new gadget item allowing players to convert materials into other random materials. You can convert 150 materials at once and convert unused materials into useful character and weapon materials and enhancement resources.

Ascension Material Conversion

You can also swap character ascension materials between elements. It’s good news for players who have an overabundance of one type of elemental resource.

Stay tuned for more information and guides as the release date of Genshin Impact version 1.3 update approaches.
