When you’re a wandering adventurer in a fantasy world, the occasional campfire is a fact of life. Even if you don’t get physically tired, it’s not always safe to be traveling around at night, so you want to have a warm, bright fire readily available to provide a sense of safety from the darkness. Here’s how to get the Wanderer’s Campfire in Final Fantasy XIV.
With the addition of the version 5.5 patch to Final Fantasy XIV, a handful of new minion types were added to the game. Most of these minions are obtained by completing raids or obtaining particular achievements, but the simplest one to get your hands on is the Wanderer’s Campfire.
The Wanderer’s Campfire is, well, exactly what it sounds like. It’s a portable campfire you can deploy just about anywhere you need a warm, well-lit place to sit. While it is classified as a “minion,” it’s an inanimate object. It’s not gonna sprout legs and start marching behind you, cute as that would be.
How to get Wanderer’s Campfire in Final Fantasy XIV
To get a Wanderer’s Campfire, you’ll need to be an Alchemist of at least level 80 (or at least be friends with one). With an Alchemist on hand, you’ll then need to obtain the ingredients needed to craft it, which are as follows:
- 4 Grenade Ash
- 6 Sandteak Log
- 4 Volcanic Tuff
The Grenade Ash is the easiest to find, as it spawns in multiple places. You can gather some at Cutter’s Cry, at Northern Thanalan (if you have at least level 40 Quarrying), or from the Bomb Baron in Northern Thanalan. As for the other stuff, you can find Sandteak Logs at Amh Araeng, though you’ll need level 76 Logging to chop ‘em down, while the Volcanic Tuff can be harvested from quarrying nodes at Kholusia, provided you have level 76 Quarrying.
Put it all together, and you’ve got yourself a toasty campfire that you can bust out at the drop of a hat.
