It’s weird how many mystery stories are effectively solved by random bystanders. Seriously, go watch an episode of Detective Conan and tell me it isn’t weird that everyone just rolls with that kid’s deductions. I guess in lieu of a licesened detective, the first nosey bystander will have to suffice. If you fancy yourself a nosey bystander, here’s how to complete The Great Horn Heist in Final Fantasy XIV.
How to Complete The Great Horn Heist in Final Fantasy XIV
The Great Horn Heist is a special quest available only during the Make it Rain event, which is running until August 11th. If you complete it, you’ll get a 5,000 MGP Card, plus a new emote. Before you can try, though, there are a few prerequisites:
- Unlocked Gold Saucer.
- Must be at least level 15.
- Must have completed one of the following quests: The Gridanian Envoy, The Ul’dahn Envoy, or The Lominsan Envoy.
To start things off, go speak to Ollier at the Steps of Nald in Ul’dah. He’ll direct you to Gold Saucer, where a robbery has taken place and a good friend of his is the prime suspect. Since you’re the closest nosy bystander, you’re the only one who can help. Find Ollier again in the Manderville Lounge at Gold Saucer to get the low-down. You’ll need to investigate 9 clue spots, which includes suspicious areas and potential witnesses. You’ll need to visit these in a particular order to get their full breadth of information:
- Anxious Attendant
- Brusque Brass Blade
- Brass Blade Recruit
- Astute Attendant
- Frantic Attendant
- Effusive Attendant
- Cheery Customer
- Choice Location
- Blabbering Brass Blade
Return to Ollier once you’ve checked out all of the clue spots to put your deduction together. You’ll need to answer 8 questions using the information you gathered. The answers to those questions are:
- The true culprit…
- One of the attendant’s uniforms…
- If you’re so sure he did it, then where is the horn?
- The horn was stolen while Hugue was still on duty!
- It’s you… Pipimaya!
- The stolen uniform was Lalafell-sized!
- But not all have a brother with eyes only for MGP.
- My most sincere apologies, Master Mayapipi.
With the caper solved, talk to Ollier one last time to pick up your reward.
