What is the Max Level in Final Fantasy 14?

There are a variety of factors that determine the objective strength of a player in an MMORPG. Maybe they have the coolest looking stuff. Maybe their stuff has the best stats or the wackiest abilities. Maybe they just know a lot of exploits or have a lot of connections with strong people. At the very base of it all, though, the most reliable metric is a player’s level. On that subject, what is the max level in Final Fantasy 14?

Way back when Final Fantasy 14 originally came out (or rather, when it relaunched in the form of A Realm Reborn), the game had a fairly low-level cap of 50. With each subsequent expansion pack, however, that level cap has gradually ticked upwards. With the Heavensward expansion, it increased to 60, with the Stormblood expansion, it increased to 70, and as of the current build of the game, the Shadowbringers expansion, it’s been raised to 80.

What is the Max Level in Final Fantasy 14?

The current max level in Final Fantasy 14 is 80. That level cap is due for another boost in the near future as well, as when the Endwalker expansion releases in November, the level cap will be raised once again to 90. The devs have already clarified that, despite its name, Endwalker is not the last expansion Final Fantasy 14 will see either, so it’ll probably continue to rise after that. Classic RPG sensibilities dictate a hard conclusion at level 100, but as to whether or not that’ll be true for this game, who can say?

Incidentally, items maintain their own distinct levels, and they have been raised alongside the expansions as well. At launch, items could only reach level 135. In Heavensward, that was raised to 280, 405 in Stormblood, and 535 at the moment with Shadowbringers. No word yet on how high it’ll go when Endwalker is released.
