Diablo 2 Resurrected is a remaster of the classic hack-and-slash action RPG from Blizzard, and you have the option to play solo or with friends on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. In this guide, we’ll show you how to play with friends in Diablo 2 Resurrected, and the process for creating and joining private and public games.
How to play with friends in Diablo 2 Resurrected
To play with friends in Diablo 2 Resurrected, create your character and click on the Lobby button. Click on the Create Game from the Lobby if you’d like to make a game that your friends can join. Input a Game Name and password (unless you’d like to make it public), choose the difficulty, max player count, max level difference, and whether or not you’d like friends to be able to join directly off the Friends List. If you opt to put no password, the game will be publicly available in the server list for anyone to join.
Take note of your Game Name and Password, and provide it to your friends so they can join. You can tap on the Join Game tab from the Lobby and enter the Game Name and Password in the appropriate fields to join a game. Alternatively, you can browse the public games from the server list and join one of those.
Does Diablo 2 Resurrected have crossplay?
Diablo 2 Resurrected does not have crossplay, but there is cross-generation play. That means PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players can play together, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S players can play together.
There is, however, cross-progression support. That means if you buy the game for, say, PC and Nintendo Switch, all of your characters and progress freely transfer between platforms via Battle.net. You are limited to playing with other players on the same platform, though.
Does Diablo 2 Resurrected have co-op?
Diablo 2 Resurrected features up to eight players co-op over Battle.net, Blizzard’s free online gaming service. You have the option to set the max amount of players when creating a game lobby. Additionally, you can set the max level difference for players in each game.
Does Diablo 2 Resurrected have local co-op?
Diablo 2 Resurrected does not have local (or “couch”) co-op mode, and that means you cannot play with friends on the same physical console or PC. That may be sad news for some Diablo fans, seeing as how Diablo 3 supported the feature. However, at least you can still play online on eight-player servers.
