It’s great when online games do seasonal events, but the really fun stuff comes around twice a year: Christmas and Halloween. Given we’re in October, it’s basically Halloween already, which means Dead By Daylight is officially in its prime element. Here’s everything we know about Dead By Daylight‘s Halloween 2022 event.
Dead by Daylight Halloween Event 2022: Tome 13, Haunted by Daylight, and Everything We Know
As with Halloweens past, Dead By Daylight is pulling out all the stops for the month of October, adding new cosmetic items for both Survivors and Killers, as well as special in-game challenges and progressions.
The developers will be gradually rolling out Halloween-themed events and cosmetics as the month rolls on, starting on October 11th and lasting until November 3rd. The general schedule looks like this:
- October 11th: Halloween update releases, new content added to in-game store
- October 12th: Tome 13, Malevolence, added to the game
- October 13th: Haunted By Daylight event officially begins, daily Bloodpoint rewards
- October 27th-November 1st: Free weekend
Halloween Update, Store Content
The actual update containing the Halloween content will be released on October 11th, though it’ll be a few days before the event proper begins. Before that, the update will introduce a few minor quality-of-life tweaks, plus some new content in the in-game store.

The new cosmetics include Halloween costumes for Dwight Fairfield and Jane Romero, plus new Hallowed Blight skins for The Oni and Wesker (AKA The Mastermind). Additionally, the Halloween collection from last year, including costumes for Mikaela Reid and The Doctor, will be available again this year.
Tome 13: Malevolance
Another addition ahead of the main Halloween festivities, the 13th Tome, Malevolence, focuses on the stories of The Ghost Face and Mikaela Reid. As usual, this Tome features both free and premium tracks, with community-created skins and charms on each.
The free track features new outfits for Yui Kimura and The Artist, while the premium track features outfits for Mikaela Reid and The Ghost Face. Of course, I would be remiss not to mention the fact that the premium track also features four new masks for The Ghost Face, including his most legendary mask, the “WASSUP” face from Scary Movie. Heck yeah.
Haunted By Daylight
Haunted By Daylight is the main event, the real sweet and potatoes of Dead By Daylight’s Halloween 2022. For the duration of the event, special Halloween items will appear in Bloodwebs again, and you’ll receive a daily Bloodpoint bonus just for logging in.
Haunted By Daylight comes with its own Event Tome, complete with special objectives. Generators and Hooks have mysteriously pylons attached to them, rewarding Void Energy when repaired. Find an Unstable Rift on the map and deposit your Void Energy to unlock special cosmetics. Survivors get glow-in-the-dark skeleton shirts, while Killers get delicious candy-themed weaponry.
Additionally, by completing the various challenges of the Event Tome like using the Unstable Rifts, smashing Jack-o-Lanterns, and other map objectives, you can unlock both new Charms and special Halloween outfits for Kate Denson and The Hag.
Free Weekend
On Halloween Weekend proper (such as it is since Halloween falls on a Monday this year), Dead By Daylight will be free-to-play across all supported platforms. If this is your first time playing Dead By Daylight, then good news: the base game will be on sale for 60% off for the entire duration of the event on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Check your preferred storefront for more details when Halloween rolls around, as there may be additional holiday discounts.
Make sure you log into Dead By Daylight all throughout October for some serious tricks and treats. This year will be a spooky season to be remembered!
