Call of Duty: best AK-47 setup in Black Ops Cold War

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

One of the most potent Assault Rifles in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is the AK-47. This weapon is a longtime favorite that has been available in all Black Ops titles since the beginning of time. If you want to maximize your power with this gun, there are a few attachments you should always include in your loadout. Here’s our version of the best AK-47 setup in Black Ops Cold War.

Before diving into the setup, make sure to choose your Wildcard. Picking Gunfighter allows you to equip all attachment slots for your weapon. It makes a massive difference in multiplayer mode, so we recommend using it in all your setups.

Best AK-47 loadout in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Here is the best AK-47 setup in Black Ops Cold War:

  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Barrel: 18.2″ Takedown
  • Body: Steady Aim Laser
  • Underbarrel: Foregrip
  • Magazine: Bakelite 50 Rnd
  • Handle: Spetsnaz Field Grip
  • Stock: Tactical Stock
  • Optic: Optional

Starting things off, you can go with the Suppressor or KGB Eliminator, both of which conceal you on the map when firing. This attachment depends on your playstyle, but the rest of the weapon extensions are mostly mandatory.

Go with the 18.2″ Takedown barrel to increase the effective range of the AK-47 by 150%. We recommend throwing this on any of your Assault Rifles and other weapons you use at long range. Throw on the Steady Aim Laser to increase your hip-fire accuracy for those close-range battles, as well.

We like the Foregrip as an underbarrel option because the AK-47 has some heavy recoil. The Foregrip gives a 15% increase to horizontal recoil control, so it helps out a lot. You will be going through a lot of ammo, as well, so the Bakelite 50 Rnd is a go-to ammo attachment. It increases ammo capacity and starting ammo by 67% and doesn’t decrease the ADS as much as the 40 Rnd Speed Mags.

For the stock, you can go with either the Tactical Stock or the KGB Skeletal Stock if you have it unlocked. Both attachments increase your Aim Walking Movement Speed, but the Skeletal slightly reduces hip-fire accuracy.

Perks, Wildcard, and Equipment

The perks we like to run on this AK-47 setup include:

  • Tactical Mask: max resistance to flashbang and stuns.
  • Scavenger: replenish ammo from fallen players.
  • Ghost: undetectable by Spy Planes

For the Wildcard, you’ll need to throw on Gunslinger. This perk allows you to equip up to three additional weapon attachments. It’s probably the best Wildcard in the game right now because it will enable you to deck out your weapons fully.

In terms of equipment, the Stimshot is a must. It initiates healing as soon as you use it and only has an 11-second cooldown. You can run any lethal you like, but C4 remains the dominant option. Lastly, we’ve seen a lot of people running the Field Mic, and it’s a good option for multiplayer because it reveals enemies nearby on the map.
