Fall Guys has had a pretty healthy userbase since it launched, and especially since it went free-to-play. Everyone likes little jellybean dudes falling all over themselves in a weirdly ephemeral gameshow. The only question, then, is whether or not every jellybean dude is a player or not. So, are there bots in Fall Guys?
Are There Bots in Fall Guys?
Back when Fall Guys first launched, there were bot players that you would go against in your first few games. This was done in order to help new players get acclimated to the game without the pressure of a full-cast game, in a similar vein to Fortnite. However, Mediatonic eventually phased this feature out for unspecified reasons, and at the time of writing, they have not signaled any intent to bring it back.
Because of this, all players you encounter in a game of Fall Guys are quite assuredly real people. If any of them seem to be exhibiting bot-like tendencies, I can assure you that some people are just weird like that. If you see any usernames that seem fake or bot-generated, there’s a reason for that: not long after Fall Guys launched, Mediatonic added a pseudonym feature, giving everyone randomly-generated names in order to prevent things like stream sniping. If you have username displays on, you may notice that your display name in a Fall Guys game is different from your actual username.
If you managed to win a Fall Guys show that felt a little too easy to you, it could just be that your match is populated with newer players who don’t quite have a grasp on the game’s mechanics. Some players have reported player-made bots made for cheating or griefing purposes, but these are extreme examples that aren’t cited very often.
So, long story short, no, there are no bots in Fall Guys. If you managed to win a show, you did it all with your own power. Go you! Go spend your hard-earned Kudos on some nifty skins and cosmetics.
