The unfortunate thing about playing games like Fortnite is that, even if you’re willing to occasionally shell out some cash, you can’t always dodge the grind. After all, if you could max out your level in an afternoon, you wouldn’t have any reason to keep playing. Of course, not everyone has time for weeks on end of grind, so if you’re in dire need of XP, there’s a little quirk you can exploit. Here’s how to use the Fortnite XP glitch.
How to Use the Fortnite XP Glitch
This method utilizes specially-designed Islands that, after a quick spot of tinkering, will allow you to earn XP passively, allowing you to go AFK and go do something else with your day. While you won’t experience an immediate windfall of XP, these AFK amounts can add up after a while, and it’s nice to not have to put in much actual effort to get it, especially when you only have so much time to complete a Battle Pass.
There are a few maps you can do this for, and if you search on social platforms like the Fortnite subreddit, you should be able to find some pretty easily. We’ll give you a freebie here, though, as well as a step-by-step on how to use it.
Using the AFK Map
- Enter the following Island Code into the prompt in your game browser: 1579-8403-8214
- Load into the Island and wait a moment while you get dropped at the start point.
- You should see a Change Your Skin booth on the far side of the room you load into. Jump into the booth.
- You’ll be warped to a staircase, which you need to climb to the top of.
- At the top, you’ll find a door leading to an outdoor balcony rimmed by a short fence topped with small lightbulbs. Interract with the third bulb on your right, and you’ll get a prompt that reads “Earn XP.”
- When you interact with that bulb, you’ll be dropped back in the starting room, where you’ll start slowly accumulating XP. You can now step away from the game while the XP flows in.

One last note: make sure to periodically return to the game to make sure the XP is still coming in, as it will stop after a while. If the XP does stop, just leave the map, load it back up, and follow the directions again to restart the XP flow.
