Rockstar Games Confirms GTA 6 is Currently in Development

Details are still to be announced

The biggest question on the mind of any Grand Theft Auto fan is “Where is GTA 6?” It’s been nearly a decade since GTA V was released and since then, the game has been re-released on the PS4 and Xbox One and will soon be released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. After years of rumors and leaks, Rockstar Games has finally confirmed that GTA 6 is currently in development.

When Will GTA 6 Be Released?

In a post on their Newswire website, Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA 6 is currently in development. The company didn’t reveal any information on the game other than it exists and will come out at some point. Rockstar said that they will reveal more information when they are ready.

This wording sounds like a delay may be coming for the game. Journalist Jason Schreier thinks that the company will announce the game’s release date as Fall 2023 before changing it to 2024. There have been several rumors for the past few years regarding GTA 6. Many contradicted each other and were probably false but there was one that claimed the game would be released in 2023. Nothing is confirmed as of yet so we will all have to be patient.

This announcement regarding GTA 6 comes just as Rockstar plans to release GTA V for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in March. A standalone version of GTA Online will also be released in March.
