How to Get Terminal Overload Key in Destiny 2 Lightfall

It won't be easy.

Keys. They open things, and shut others. Apparently, it is the safest way to lock things out of reach in video games. I mean, how many times have you seen the message “a key is necessary to open the door” or something similar? Yes, a bunch. And yet, developers still include them in their games. Well, let us humor them one more time. Here is how to get the Terminal Overload Key in Destiny 2 Lightfall.

How to Get Terminal Overload Key in Destiny 2 Lightfall

What could possibly motivate the player more than a promise of guaranteed loot? Well, many things perhaps, but I doubt that. You see, not only does the Lightfall expansion bring a campaign story to follow, you will also get the chance to loot your way to claimed treasure stardom. And well, that is where the Terminal Overload event comes in. Anyway, before moving forward, you need to know that before attempting to get to this event, or even getting the key, you must complete the entire expansion’s campaign. Once you do, you will be able to purchase the Terminal Overload Key Bounty for just 250 glimmerm from Nimbus. After purchasing it, head to the event’s location you see in the map below.

In order to get to the Terminal Overload Key, you will have to complete the Terminal Overload even three times. Once you do, you will be able to collect the key and open the second chest once you finish the event. You will be able to play this event 4 time a day, so make sure to buy the bounty every day so you can pile up those Terminal Overload keys.

How to Complete Terminal Overload Event

Like said before, the Terminal Overload, taking place in Neomuna, is an event you can do 4 times a day. There are a decent amount of tasks that will test your strategy and skill, for that reason we will tell you how to complete this event. Consider it doubly necessary since you will have to do this multiple times and, well, repetition can get quite tedious. Basically, the event is divided in three phases, which are randomly selected to provide some variation. Nice. Each of them will require to either fight a boss, kill enemies, or capture some objectives. You will have to fulfill the objective of the phase, this is not Call of Duty. Here are some of the phases you will need to complete during the Terminal Overload event:

Phase ObjectiveDescription
Capture the Sync PlateCapture the indicated area by securing it and defeating all the enemies.
Defeat Shadow LegionsDefeat enemy soldier for a limited time. The completion bar must go to 100%.
Destroy Vex NodesUse heavy weaponry such as an Arc Cranium or Minotaur to destroy the Vex Nodes in the indicated area.
Defeat Psion SpottersDefeat the Psion enemies before the can call for backup. Destroy the dark fragments over them to deactivate their shields and defeat them.
Destroy AnchorsUsing your regular weapons to destroy the highlighted anchors to cause an array destabilization.

The event basically has several stages in which you will have to get rid of several types of enemies, including some boss battles. Make the best out of it and gather those wins in order to ultimately collect the Terminal Overload Key that we are looking for. Have a good one, my friend.
