How to Capture Ports in Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts

Seize control of your enemy's ports!

Players can replicate the challenges of commanding a fleet of battleships during World Wars I and II in the nautical warfare simulation videogame Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts. With period-accurate ships, armaments, and tactics, users will participate in a range of naval conflicts and objectives, from small battles to massive fleet operations. As they prepare and execute their moves, players must take into consideration factors including climate, territory, and their opponents’ strategies while using their ships’ strengths and weaknesses to outwit and overpower their opponents. A unique and well-implemented research and development system in the game also let players enhance their ships and weapons while learning new tactics and technologies.

Seizing Enemy Ports in Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts

The ironic thing about taking control of your opponents’ ports in Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts is that although the action seems warlike, you can only win them over in peacetime. There is currently no way to capture an enemy port in the game if you are at war with them still. Here is how you can make other nations’ ports yours in the game:

  • Firstly, you need to be at war with the nation who owns the ports you desire. We know, this may seem like it contradicts the above paragraph. But bear with us!
  • Next, once the war is over you will have the option to sign a peace treaty and negotiate terms.
  • Among these terms, you should be able to request certain ports be given to you.
  • If your former enemy agrees, then they will be ceded to you right away (along with the province that port is in).

Two things to note with this method, however. Firstly, you will not always get the ports you desire from the peace treaty. On some occasions, the enemy will refuse to give you ports that you request, and this is unavoidable. The second thing that may cause an issue for you is that you cannot take their mainland ports away from them this way. The only ports available to you in this method are your adversary’s overseas ports. However, these overseas ports are just as valuable and can be crucial to winning in Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts.
