Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Weapons - FFAR1

Call of Duty: Best FFAR 1 loadout in Black Ops Cold War

One of the best assault rifles and overall weapons in the game right now is the FFAR 1. It has a superior fire rate and time-to-kill, though the recoil could prove problematic for some players. That’s nothing we can’t fix with the right attachments, though. The weapon is truly a master of the mid-range, and we’ll show you how to optimize your setup to make the most of it. Here’s our version of the best FFAR 1 loadout in Black Ops Cold War.

Before diving in, we’re going with the Gunfighter Wildcard as always. It’s the dominant Wildcard in the game right now, as it unlocks the ability to equip an attachment for every slot. It allows for highly customizable weapons, and it’s great for multiplayer especially.

Update: As of the November 20 update, there is now slightly higher recoil, reduced max damage by 3.5%, and reduced max damage range by 34% for the FFAR 1.

Best FFAR 1 loadout in Black Ops Cold War

These are the best attachments to run on the FFAR 1 in Black Ops Cold War:

  • Optic: Millstop Reflex
  • Muzzle: SOCOM Eliminator
  • Barrel: 19.5″ Reinforced Heavy
  • Body: Steady Aim Laser
  • Grip: Infiltrator Grip
  • Magazine: Salvo 44 Rnd Fast Mag
  • Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
  • Stock: Raider Stock

We recommend using whatever optic you like most. The first unlockable optic is actually not a bad choice. It’s clean and provided the right amount of magnification, so we like to rock that. We mentioned this weapon does have some recoil, so we go with the SOCOM Eliminator muzzle for the 17% vertical recoil reduction. For the barrel, we’re picking the mid-length 19.5″ Reinforced Heavy barrel. It provides twice as much effective damage range and a 40% bullet velocity increase. The FFAR 1 excels at mid-range, so this helps it beast even harder in those situations.

Next up, the Steady Aim Laser is a pretty common choice on any assault rifle. It provides a base 20% increase in hip-fire accuracy, which helps in those close-range situations. There are no downsides to these attachments, which is another reason we like it. As for grip, we’re going with the Infiltrator Grip for an all-around 5% increase to movement speed, shooting move speed, and aim walking movement speed. It’s a nice mobility boost, which we like to see on a mid-range weapon like this one.

One of the essential things in multiplayer is your magazine attachment. Throwing on the Salvo 44 Rnd Fast Mag gives a 76% boost to ammo capacity and starting ammo and a 35% increase to reload speed. For the handle, you’ll want to go with the Airborne Elastic Wrap. It provides a 30% increase to ADS time and a 90% flinch resistance, with an added aim bonus while prone in case you like drop shotting.

Finally, the Raider Stock gives a 30% sprint to fire time and a 40% aim walking movement speed bonus. It does decrease the hip-fire accuracy, but we already made up for that with the laser.

Equipment

  • Tactical: Stimshot
  • Lethal: Frag or C4
  • Field Upgrade: Field Mic

For the tactical, it’s always a good idea to use the Stimshot. It provides instant healing, so you don’t have to wait for the healing activation cooldown. Next, you can pick up the Frag Grenade or C4, depending on whichever one you like better. Finally, we find the Field Mic field upgrade useful in most situations. It provides enemy intel by picking up audio cues from nearby players, giving you more enemy positioning intel.

Perks

Here’s what we’re running for our perks:

  • Red: Flak Jacket
  • Blue: Quartermaster or Scavenger
  • Yellow: Ninja, Ghost, or Gung-Ho

Perks are highly customizable, and you can pick what you like. For this loadout, we go with one focused on mid-range gunfights. Flak Jacket is a good option for some added resistance. Scavenger is always a solid choice to pick up additional ammo, or Quartermaster for the equipment recharge speed. Finally, Ninja, Ghost, or Gung-Ho are all good choices in the third perk slot.
