Certain plants have powerful therapeutic properties. Have you ever tried sniffing some lavender when you’re stressed? Takes the edge right off. I’m not sure the same applies to fungus, but Lili sure seems to think so in Psychonauts 2. Here’s where to find the fungus for Lili in Psychonauts 2.
After Raz’s family arrives and you get access to the quarry outside of the Motherlobe, take the right path past the jet and follow the rocky road to a small cliffside garden to find Lili. She’s worried about Truman’s condition and asks that Raz obtain a sample of a special fungus she thinks could help his ailing mind. Since Raz can’t tell her Truman’s actually awake, he decides to just roll with it and do his maybe-girlfriend a favor.
Where to Find the Fungus for Lili in Psychonauts 2
Before you can go looking for the fungus, you’ll need to have obtained the Time Bubble psychic ability from the Brain in a Jar. If you haven’t retrieved the brain from Otto’s lab and shoved it in Nick’s head yet, go take care of that first.
The special fungus can be obtained from atop the waterfall in the Questionable Area campgrounds. You’ll know it when you see it; it’s flowing backwards. You’ll need to make your way up to the observation deck near the top of the falls. The proper way to do this is to repair the Funicular cart on western end of the park by finding its three missing gears nearby. If you’re crafty with your Levitation, though, you can also get up there by climbing up the tree nearest to the cliff face and getting a running jump over to it.
On the edge of the observation deck, you’ll see large logs flowing up the falls. If you look carefully, you can see a gap in the water leading to a cave when the logs pass by, but they’re moving too fast to jump through. This is where Time Bubble comes in. Use Time Bubble to slow a log as it’s passing, then quickly jump aboard and through the gap. The special fungus will be on prominent display within the cave for you to harvest. Don’t worry, it’s safe to touch without sterile gloves. Probably.
