There are tons of different resources to harvest, mine, and collect in New World. You will require a lot of these materials early on in the game if you want to level your crafting skills. A common resource a lot of players need and can’t find is Iron Ore. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find Iron Ore in New World.

Where to find Iron in New World
Iron Ore is in the highland areas of the map. You can see this by pulling up your map and navigating to the Resource Locations tab. Iron requires a mining skill of 25 to track on your compass.
Iron Ore Locations
Finding a good Iron Ore node early on in the game will depend on where you start. We have a few good locations listed below that you can choose from based on your starting zone.
First Light, Wolf Den
If you spawn at the First Light location, there’s a good spot near the wolf den. Refer to the map below, and head inside the den to find the iron vein. You should get somewhere between 40 to 100 iron ore per node.
Leum’s Pick
Another good area for iron ore is at Leum’s Pick by the Northfork point of interest on the map. It’s a nearby area if you spawn in First Light, but the mobs are around level 20. Refer to the map below for the exact location.
Monarch’s Bluffs Hamlet
An excellent spot for mining iron in the early game is just east of Monarch’s Bluffs Hamlet. You can find a mining shaft that generally has two iron nodes inside of it at this location. Use your pickaxe on these iron veins, and you should get anywhere between 40-80 iron per node.
Windsward, Dankfur Hollow
Another spot is south of Windsward at Dankfur Hollow. There are several nodes scattered throughout this area where you can mine some iron.
One thing to keep in mind while mining for iron is that it weighs a lot. You won’t need much of it to make your character over-encumbered. Make sure you have a fast travel location available to a nearby camp or settlement so you can deposit your resources quickly.
