Where Building 21 is in DMZ Modern Warfare 2

On the hunt for a sweet bounty?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 just brought in a new reason for players to keep playing or return if they’ve gotten burnt out thanks to its latest big event, the Season 1 Reloaded mid-season update. This update sees quite a bit of content added for Moder Warfare 2 players, such as the return of the Shipment map and even a new Special Ops mission too.

But things on the Warzone 2.0 front are also heating up as well due in part to the inclusion of a new, mysterious location called Building 21. Like something out of a 1980s sci-fi film, Building 21 has a lot of secrets to tell, with almost nothing known about the location aside from the riches of Contraband it holds and the dangers of keeping it hidden.

But if you’re scouting Al Mazrah trying to find its location, then you might be coming up empty-handed. Today, let’s talk about where Building 21 is in Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ, as well as why you’d actually want to put forth the effort in doing so anyway.

The existence of Building 21 is odd enough on its own, but there’s an added layer that was the decision of the developers. You see, Building 21 was actually supposed to go live alongside the content of Season 1 Reloaded, but has since been sort of left in a limbo state. Though if you played earlier today, then you may have been able to catch a glimpse of Building 21’s location and maybe even made your way into it before it was removed.

As it currently stands, players are unable to access Building 21 at all and the developers are now leaving it up to the players to uncover when Building 21 is actually live to infiltrate in the future. It sounds as if Building 21 possibly was not ready to go live with this update and now Activision and its dev teams are trying to tie this mystery aspect into the map’s secrecy a bit more once it’s patched.

Once you’ve gotten your hands on an access key for Building 21, you actually access the location from the DMZ home screen. So Building 21 isn’t part of the Al Mazrah map whatsoever. When you select to join a DMZ lobby, you’re given the choice between Al Mazrah and Building 21 when this map is actually live to join. That’s all there is to it.

Additionally, you could also unlock it by executing 2 Operator Kills with an AR in 15 separate matches, or by purchasing it outright within a bundle from the Store.
