It has been over a decade since the launch of Counter Strike Global Offensive. But, if rumors and leaks are to be believed, we’re about to receive its long overdue sequel. There’s still a lot about this potential sequel that’s unconfirmed, but what we can surmise as of this moment is that it’ll run on Valve’s Source 2 engine. If it’ll be a sequel in the truest sense of the word, or if it’ll merely be an upgraded port is still to be seen.
In addition, we can also take our guess as to when we’ll see this supposed Counter Strike 2. Read on to find out when you can jump into the action of this latest entry in a long-running and beloved franchise.
When Does Counter Strike 2 Release?
It should be noted that, as of this moment, we are still unsure if Counter Strike 2 even exists. So, we most certainly don’t know when we’ll be able to get our hands on it. That being said, if the rumors and leaks are to be believed, we could see a beta version open up as early as this month (March 2023) and as late as April Fools’ Day (April 1). I know, I know — we’ve heard this one before.
So, as of this very moment, that seems to be the best estimation we can make, based on the information provided to Richard Lewis, a veteran esports journalist. If we hear a more exact release date for this long awaited upgrade/sequel, we’ll be sure to update this page accordingly.
