Should I Get the Resident Evil 4 Remake on PS5 or Xbox Series X?

The Resident Evil 4 remake is easily one of the most highly anticipated game releases of 2023, and it’s no wonder why. The original Resident Evil 4 came out all the way back in 2005, and now that it’s finally being remade nearly 2 decades later, people can’t help but anticipate the game’s long-overdue revival!

The Resident Evil 4 remake is mercifully offered on a wide variety of consoles, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. This makes the purchasing process both harder and easier; more people will be able to buy it due to it being offered on more platforms, which is a good thing, but for those who have access to more than one of its offered platforms, it can be difficult to know which one to settle on. This is especially true if you have access to two of the most major consoles it’s being released on: the PS5 and the Xbox Series X.

In general, the gaming community seems to agree that this game is much better when played on the PS5, but it’s okay to still be unsure. If you’re still not sure whether you should buy the highly-anticipated Resident Evil 4 remake on PS5 or Xbox Series X, then check out these pros and cons of buying each version:

Resident Evil 4 Remake on PS5

The Resident Evil 4 remake is a masterpiece no matter what console you play it on, but fans seem to agree that the PS5 version of the game has the best frame rate. In addition to this, the PS5 version has been known to have slightly faster loading times than the Xbox Series X version.

Fans of the game have also said that although it’s barely noticeable, the Resident Evil 4 remake’s PS5 version has much better controller support than the Xbox Series X version; this seems like more of a personal preference, but it’s worth noting that people seem to like playing the game using the PS5 controller more than the Xbox Series X controller.

It’s rumored that the developers took extra time to make the PS5 version of the game as perfect as possible, due to the console’s popularity. Of course, this is just a rumor, but people do seem to agree that the PS5 version runs almost unnaturally smoothly while playing.

Resident Evil 4 Remake on Xbox Series X

The developers really outdid themselves with this one; this game is beautiful no matter what platform it’s being played on, but the general consensus seems to be that the Xbox Series X version of the game has the clearest picture quality. Picture quality isn’t a huge deal for some people, but it’s extremely important to those who like to be fully immersed in games.

The Xbox Series X version of the game may have slightly slower loading times than the PS5 version, but the textures, details, landscapes, and general graphics seem to be much more immersive. Immersion is especially important in horror games, especially when the horror games in question are Resident Evil games.

The Xbox Series X version of the game also seems to have slightly better in-game lighting than the PS5 version. If you’ve ever played any of the Resident Evil games, then you’ll know how important it is to have enough light to see your enemies in time!
