Shadows Over Loathing is the hilarious successor to West of Loathing, the immensely popular black-and-white RPG. Shadows Over Loathing, like its successful predessesor, is a comedy adventure-RPG full of mysteries, monsters, and unforgettable stick-figure characters; it may not look like much on the surface, but you’ve definitely never played anything like Shadows Over Loathing.
This game is similar to West of Loathing in the sense that it’s got a lot more puzzles in it than you’d think. One of the tougher puzzles in the game is the Mudhenge puzzle, which can take hours of trial and error to get through. If you don’t feel like wasting an afternoon trying to make your way through this muddy maze, then you’ve come to the right place! Keep reading to find out how to easily get through the Mudhenge puzzle in Shadows Over Loathing.
How to Solve the Mudhenge Puzzle in Shadows Over Loathing
The Mudhenge puzzle is actually a lot easier to get through than you’d think, though it can take a few tries if you’ve never done it before. Thankfully, with this guide, you’ll barely need to try at all! To find the right path through the Mudhenge, follow these directions from the beginning:

Once you successfully get through the Mudhenge maze, you should be brought to a mysterious alter that’s crawling with aggressive (and nude) druids. Once you get there, you’ll quickly realize that getting through the puzzle wasn’t the hard part; fighting the druids is! Getting through these nude dudes won’t be easy, but you should be fine as long as you remember to prepare for the fight while you’re getting through the maze.
Once the druids have been defeated, you’ll have the option of putting your compass on the mysterious altar. If you choose to put your compass on the altar, the compass’s needle will point towards “Secret West”, where you’ll be able to find the thing that your heart desires most. Only you can figure out what that thing is!
