How to Connect Pokémon GO and Pokémon Scarlet or Violet
- In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will have to open the Poké Portal menu and select the Mystery Gift option.
- Select Connect to Pokémon GO option whenever prompted.
- Open Pokémon GO on your phone and open Settings.
- Select the Nintendo Switch option.
- On your Switch, select “Pair with a Pokémon GO account”.
- You will then see your Trainer’s name, and select it to connect both accounts.
How to Get the Coin Bag in Pokémon GO
Once you have connected both accounts, you will have to send a Postcard from Pokémon GO to Pokémon Scarlet or Violet in order to unlock the Coin Bag, which will, in turn, unlock appear in your inventory:
- In the Poké Portal in Pokémon Scarlet or Violet.
- Pick the Mystery Gift option.
- Select Connect to Pokémon GO option whenever prompted.
- Open the Trainer Profile Page in Pokémon GO.
- Go to the Postcard Book menu right below the Trainer Level, then, pick a Postcard.
- Tap on the menu button and select Send to Nintendo Switch.
How to Use the Coin Bag in Pokémon GO
After all this connection mumbo jumbo that could be resolved in one single click, you will receive the Coin Bag in your Pokémon GO inventory. This Coin Bag will serve you to catch Gimmighouls by luring them to your location for around 30 minutes. You will only be able to use the Bag once per day. If you send more postcards to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will receive Golden Lure Modules, which will turn any PokéStops into gold, which will lure Gimmighouls to it.

How to Catch Gimminghouls Without Scarlet or Violet
If you wish to catch some Gimmighouls without having any Scarlet or Violet copies, or even a Nintendo Switch, your only chance to get them is by visiting already golden PokéStops that have been converted by other players. Some sort of RNG, I know, but if you lack the resources, then you will have to try your luck. If you are able to, enjoy your new Coin Bag and your Gimmighouls!
