Lost Ark – Should You Choose Preigelli or Liebertane as a Faction?

Will you side with the freedom loving pirates or the serious law and order type mercenaries?

Preigelli or Liebertane, order or lawlessness, red or blue team. Like always, there’s a slight anxiety at the moment of choosing so everyone is running online to see what others have picked and why. It’s probably for the better that there are only two choices as that limits everyone’s dilemma.

Many players are having their doubts and many discussions have been started online about which faction to pick in Lost Ark. Arguments are going back and forth, we’ve seen them all and decided to bring you the summary of everything you should know before you choose your faction in Lost Ark. Read on to find out more!

What Faction Should You Choose in Lost Ark?

After you reach item level 1445 and complete the “Cataclysmic Eliyabeck” quest you will be put in front of a choice of joining the red team (Liebertane) or the blue team (Preigelli). The Liebertanes represent themselves as a freedom-loving faction with no rules that take whatever they can. Opposite of them stand Preigelli who is more of a law and order faction that wishes to end the chaos in Rowen by bringing in strict regulations.

No Big Differences

The first thing you should know about joining factions is that it isn’t a red or blue pill choice. The consequences of joining Preigelli or Liebertane aren’t binding and the differences are minimal. Both factions will allow you access to progress through 15 Faction Ranks, take co-op quests, and get various mounts, skins card packs, etc.

Join the Preigelli and you will get blue and white skins. Join the Liebertane and your hero will be dressed in red and white. At Rank 11 you can even buy the other side’s skin chests so even if you aren’t sure about which color you prefer you can switch.

Even if you think you’ve made a bad choice no worries! Joining a faction for the first time will allow you to change your mind immediately, while if you have already been choosing factions in the past, you will have a 7-day wait period before you can switch.

Keep in mind that when you join a faction, all the characters from your Roster join the selected faction as well. Also, if you change faction after Rank 11 you will get an XP penalty and you could lose Rank as well.

Disbalance of Forces in Lost Ark

The only thing that can make you go for one over the other is the disbalance in the number of members on some servers. Many players have talked about this in Reddit and official Lost Ark forums and it seems that people are not joining the Preigelli faction because it looks too authoritarian to them. This created an in-game destabilization.

People playing with a crowded Liebertane faction will have plenty of opportunity to find other players for co-op missions while the Preigelli ones won’t be so fortunate. On the other hand, if you go out hunting for members of the opposite faction you will have a much easier time if you are Preigelli than if you are Liebertane.

Can You Actually Make a Choice?

There are limits to how many members a faction can take and yes a faction can be full on your server. When you add the fact that we’ve mentioned above that Liebertane is much more popular than the Preigelli, you might be faced with a decision of whether to join the blue ones right away or wait for the red team to open up a spot for you.

In the end, as the official Lost Ark website mentions there are plenty of new challenges and rewards waiting for you after you join a faction, regardless of your choice. So our advice is to relax and enjoy the game, whatever the color of your uniform may be!
