Is Phantump in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

So, a kid gets lost in the woods. After a while, and trying his best to survive in the wild, he inevitably perishes to the dangers of outside. His spirit wanders through the woods, until it possesses a tree stump. His spirit along the stump make their rebirth as a Pokémon. Its name is Phantump. Now, I don’t know which is more heartbreaking: if the story behind a Phantump, or the fact that there are a lot of Phantump in the Pokémon world. Well, anyway, after shedding a few tears and having a moment alone for myself, many fans of this ghost and grass type are wondering if they will find this Pokémon in the latest series of games of the franchise. Is Phantump in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

While this Pokémon status as a favorite among fans and is very expected to do his Paldea debut, unfortunately, Phantump is not and will not be included in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. That means that you can’t find it in the region of Paldea, and that you will not have the ability to transfer it from previous Pokémon games once Pokémon Scarlet and Violet becomes compatible with Pokémon Home. It is understandable since supporting the entirety of the Pokémon species in the latest game is a monumental task, but it is sad that we will not get the chance to have our phantom buddy with us while we walk the lands of Paldea, discover the ninth generation of Pokémon and the new Tera types (or even sharing a picnic and sandwich).

Anyway, while Phantump will ghost for another day, we can enjoy the other Pokémon included in this game and discover several other sad stories about their beginnings. Don’t count on me, though, I already run out of tears.
