How to Unlock Pro Dribble Moves in NBA 2K21

NBA 2K21 has far surpassed expectations with its unique variety of pro dribble move animations, adding more fun ways to personalize your game. However, when you first start playing 2K, you’re not going to have any dribble moves as these will need to be acquired as you progress throughout the game. Here’s a short guide on how to unlock pro dribble moves in NBA 2K21.

To unlock pro dribble moves, you will have to jump through a few hoops first. There are some unique requirements needed to add these pro dribbling techniques to your player’s repertoire. Not the least of which include improving your player’s ball-handling rating, and choosing the correct player build.

How to Unlock Pro Dribble Moves in NBA 2K21

The first thing you will have to consider is that NBA 2K21 increased their minimum ball-handling rating to 85 (from last year’s 70). This means that for 2K players to unlock pro dribbling moves in 2K21, their player would need to have a ball-handling rating of at least 85. To the approval of many 2K players, the game changed the requirements back in September of 2020 to a more reasonable rating of 80. For your MyPlayer to acquire pro dribbling moves, you will need to progress their talents through each game played and use the earned VC wisely.

If you want to be a good dribbler in NBA 2K21, having a high ball-handle rating of at least 80 is arguably the most important factor. But the best way to make the entire process easier on you is by selecting a pie chart with playmaking abilities (yellow) as one of the main attributes when you first build your MyPlayer.

Not only will this give your player a high ball-handling rating, to begin with, but it can also give you the option to have Hall of Fame-grade playmaking badges once your player is fully upgraded (opposed to just gold or silver). Besides having high playmaking abilities, make sure that your build is also based on speed and acceleration. All of these aspects combined will quickly turn your player into an elite dribbler.

Knowing how you should direct your focus (and your VC) is essential if you want to adopt that Cardiac-Kemba stepback or a Killer-Kyrie crossover. So long as you prioritize placing your hard-earned VC towards improving these ratings and take time to analyze your build, you should be out there breaking ankles in no time.
