Grounded is a first and third-person cooperative survival game and subsequently, the player will need to build a base and construct various things during the course of playing the game.
You will need to build a base or multiple bases and construct walls to protect yourself from insect attacks. If they attack your base successfully, then parts of your base will get destroyed and you will need to make repairs.
The way to do this is by ensuring you have your tools at the ready in order to do so but you will also need to check that your tools are not broken or worn down, as this will significantly reduce tool efficiency or you will have to remake the tool from scratch. The same implications apply to weapons.
As with many survival games, over time and with greater use, tools and weapons will naturally degrade and wear down. This will be visually indicated by a small meter which may be seen next to your tool/weapon and this tells you how long you have left before they break.
The annoying part is that once they break, they do not instantly leave your inventory, instead remaining and forcing you to make a new one from scratch. But this can often be a waste of precious resources and time, so your best bet is to make some repairs.

How to Make Repairs
The first thing you will need in order to repair your weapons and tools is to ensure you have enough Quartzite. This resource takes a bit of time and effort to source and extract but it is definitely worth the hassle.
Quartzite is commonly found underground and may be harvested using a level 1 Hammer. An ideal location to mine Quartzite is in the anthill to the northwest of the first field station or near a small cave where you had to investigate what was weakening the laser when attempting to repair the mysterious objective.
Once you have enough Quartzite in your inventory, you’re ready to go. To repair tools and other equipment, you will need to go to your inventory. Right-click on the item and you’ll see the ‘repair’ function. Click on it and you’ll see what material you need to repair the item.
The amount of quartzite you need to repair a weapon or tool depends on its tier. The greater the tier of your item, the more quartzite you will need to use to repair it.
It also doesn’t matter how many times you have used it, once it is worn down — even the slightest bit compared to when it’s on the verge of breaking — it will also cost the same amount of quartzite to repair; that is, if you are repairing an item of the same tier. The most efficient thing to do would be to wait until this point to then make your repairs.
