As the entire plot of Tears of the Kingdom revolves around Hyrule Castle, after being taken by The Demon King and rather dramatically lifted into the sky as a real ballsy play by the King, it is unsurprising that you may get a little curious as to what is actually up there. Of course, Link will inevitably visit the Hyrule Castle as the goal is to save the land against the Demon King who you unfortunately woke from his deep slumber. However, if you are interested to know what is inside Hyrule Castle, be that for its loot or general architecture, here is our guide on how you can enter the Hyrule Castle very early on in your playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Access Hyrule Castle Early in Tears of the Kingdom

Firstly, you will need a flying vehicle that will take you to the very peak of the Map, higher than the Sky Islands itself. Whilst you can use the Flying Machine/ Glider to do so, you will need to utilize the Ultrahand Ability in order to attach a new Flying Machine onto the old one that you are traveling on so that you can jump across without losing the Machine through its ‘battery’ life in which it will eventually despawn. Therefore what you need to do is ascend with a Flying Machine whilst holding another in your hand. This will appear smaller and glow in from of Link’s hands. The best place to ascend from is Nachoyah Shrine where 3 Flying Machines can be found outside.

When you are ready to go, set a Waypoint to Hyrule Castle and begin your fly over the Hyrule Regions. Now that you are directly above the Castle, drop from the Flying Machine and glide down. From here, you have the freedom to enter the Castle grounds and whilst you will not be completing anything story-related due to the fact that you are nowhere near it Quest-wise, you can explore the Castle, gathering Royal Guard armor and gear whilst avoiding any enemies in and around Hyrule. The Castle can be accessed in other ways using the Ultrahand and Fuse Ability but it requires more materials such as Fans, Planks and Zonai parts.

How to Get into Hyrule Castle Following the Story

Getting into Hyrule Castle is very easy from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower which you can fast-travel to. From here, you can glide straight into the Castle using your Paraglider. Keep in mind that you should have completed the Main Quest ‘Regional Phenomena’ to continue the ‘Crisis at Hyrule Castle’ Questline which will take you to the Castle to find Zelda and take on the Demon King. Things get intense from the second you enter so keep that in mind as you enter. You can leave whenever you want and return to continue this Quest. Remember to look out for the Royal Guard loot that can be found inside the Hyrule Castle grounds, predominantly in the main entrance area. The true entrance to the Castle is via Hyrule Castle B1 where you can drop down into the Courtyard area beyond the metal gate where Zelda appears.
