And while I may really enjoy the quite scary elements that this game has to offer, I sure would like to cut down on some jump scares and save a bit of time too. Luckily, The Chant offers players a way to get around the map quickly and easily with a fast-travel system just as unique as the rest of this game. So, let’s explain how it works!

How to Fast-Travel in The Chant

Utilizing the fast-travel system that The Chant implements about halfway through the story is a true game-changer. As The Chant’s Retreat island is actually quite a large one, so if you really want to get to somewhere else fast, this is the perfect way to do it.

Luckily, the first half of the game won’t have you backtracking to areas that are too far, and responsibly introduces this mechanic at a point when you will most definitely be revisiting areas if you wish as well as heading further into the island as the story progresses.

But how do you actually fast-travel? Well, it’s simple. In each major location in the game, there’s a permanent Gloom that houses a large hole in the ground. If you go over this hole and hold the action button, you’ll be transported into this sort of underground world, akin to the Upside-Down in Stranger Things.

Once you’re in the fast-travel hub, there will be 6 different corridors that have a color that matches each of the 6 Prisms that you’ll collect over the course of the game. You can only head through a specific corridor if you have unlocked said corresponding Prisms.

Each corridor heads to yet another hole which you can use to transport back onto the island. Though it’s worth noting that each of these corridors’ color is an indication of which part of the island you’ll arrive at. For instance, since you confront Kim at the Cannery and her Prism is orange, the orange corridor in the hub will teleport you to the Cannery.
