How to Earn Points in the Apex Legends Wintertide Collection Event

Winter is here

With the return of the Winter Express LTM, there are a total of 24 Wintertide cosmetics you can collect until December 27th. At the end of the Event, should you collect all 24 cosmetics, then the Wraith Prestige skin (The Apex Voidshifter) will be unlocked. It is a interesting alternative on how to unlock a new skin. The Wintertide Event includes Collection Items which are the 24 cosmetics that players must obtain to unlock the Apex Voidshifter Prestige Skin. Earn Wintertide points to unlock new items as part of the Wintertide Collection Event. This is our guide on how to earn points in the limited time event.

As with every update, Respawn adds new Event Packs. These Wintertide Event Packs have a high probability of 50% Legendary and 50% Epic loot inside for 1 Event Item. With a 10% Legendary, 20% Epic and 70% Rare for 2 Standard Items. 1 Wintertide Pack costs 700 Apex Coins.

How to Earn Wintertide Points in the Christmas Event

For a limited time of 20 days, players can earn points by completing the Daily Challenges set by Respawn. Your overall Prize Tracker tracks your progress starting at 250 points giving you 25 Crafting Materials (very exciting). As you obtain more points you will unlock Epic Items such as Holos and Gun Skins. You can also obtain the Wintertide Avalanche Badge through dealing 50,000 damage to enemies. This can be achieved during any Game Mode on Apex Legends. You can track your progress on the Apex Legends lobby screen. On the right side of the screen you will see your Wintertide overall points earned with the Daily Challenges to hit underneath.

Wintertide Daily Challenges

Curious to know what possible rewards are available as you collect points? Click on the ‘View Prize Tracker‘ tab underneath the daily Wintertide Event Challenges. These Challenges are obtained through different Game Modes. So refer to the abbreviated tab on the left of the Challenge name to see what Game Mode you need to play to complete the Challenge. The exclusive tabs are:

  • Battle Royale (green tab)
  • Arenas (purple tab)
  • Non-Battle Royale (blue tab)

A lot of these Daily Challenges can be achieved in all Game Modes, these will not have an exclusive tab next to it. Examples of Daily Challenges where you can earn Wintertide points are:

  • Play 2 Matches in any Game Mode
  • Deal 1500 Damage in any Game Mode
  • 10 Kills or Assists in any Game Mode
  • 5 Knockdowns (Battle Royale)
  • Top 10 Finish 4 Times (Battle Royale)

These Daily Challenges are similar to that of what we normally expect to see when playing Apex Legends. Hit these Challenges to earn points in the Wintertide Prize Tracker, gain new items and cosmetics and stars for the Battle Pass.

Best Game Modes to Get Easy Wintertide Points

Points can be earned in any Game Mode but we recommend playing Arenas and the Winter Express Limited Time Game Mode. These are the quickest to play and win. These Modes are also easy to complete Damage Challenges.

Of course if your Daily Challenges consist of Battle Royale Game Modes then we recommend playing Ranked. Depending on which Rank you are in will determine the ease to hit Battle Royale Daily Challenges. For Challenges that require a lot of damage you can drop early in a Pubs game to a highly contested area if you trust your skill in getting 3+ kills. Or you can drop into your usual spot on Broken Moon in Ranked. Use the weapon Charge Rifle to farm Damage from afar.

Playing Pubs to get a top 10 finish will be far easier to accomplish than in Ranked as Pub games go by quicker. Due to players hot dropping out of the Supply Ship, play a Pubs game as you normally would but do not drop into a highly contested area. You will see teams dropping like flies super quickly compared to a Ranked game so you are guaranteed to get a top 10 finish so long as you do not overextend in a fight and throw the game.
