The mentor will send them on a quest that involves them breaking down some trees to prove their strength and capability. And no, you won’t need an axe.

To destroy the innocent trees in Arcane Odyssey, all a player must do is find one near the Iron Leg mentor and absolutely go at it with magical attacks. Basic attacks or knives won’t actually cut the tree down, but any proper weapon or any magic attack will eventually break the tree down. It is likely that trees have an invisible health bar that you’ll need to whittle down, so more powerful attacks will bring them down faster.

It will take quite a few hits, but stay patient and keep hitting that tree. Eventually it will fall. Every player begins the game with a magic, and can create a very basic spell even if they haven’t specced into a magic build at all. The creation of a basic spell using your magic is all that it will take to break the tree down.
