The King Calvius boss fight in Arcane Odyssey is the hardest boss in the game, and a very controversial one at that. You’ll need to have high levels, but even higher patience. How to prepare for King Calvius in Arcane Odyssey
Arcane Odyssey has a wide range of magical abilities and techniques and a plethora of fighting styles and weapons. Thankfully being a skill-based game, you could technically defeat the boss with simply your bear hands; any build can topple the tyrant. However, a strong magic build would be the most recommended, as distance is your friend in this fight.
We would also recommend you being at least level 100 before you even enter the ring with King Calvius. This way, you will have a high health pool to throw at him and you can unlock powerful magic abilities. For the sake of your sanity, it is worth using magical techniques that are quick, or at least moderate in their speed. Slow magical attacks could really be the end of your run.
Also, this isn’t necessary but heavily recommended, try to get familiar with the parry and block mechanics of Arcane Odyssey. King Calvius is a relentless boss, and learning how to parry and block quickly could save your life on numerous occasions.

How to beat King Calvius in Arcane Odyssey
King Calvius is not just a hard boss, but a punishing one. He has next to no downtime and will zip around the map, unleashing a slew of AoE magical attacks. Most of your time fighting him will consist of you dodging and ducking as he torrents your position. To have any hope in this fight, you’ll need to memorize his attacks, his build-up time for his attacks, and you’ll have to be on your toes.
Like any hard boss fight, don’t focus on dealing damage as your primary goal, just stay alive. The longer you are alive, the better your muscle memory and reflexes will become. Before too long, you’ll notice that you’re able to predict and dodge effortlessly, and you’ll notice opportunities of attack.
Make sure to maintain a large distance at all times. In those small moments of his vulnerability, you’ll be able to shoot off a magical spell that deals some damage. The longer your distance, the more time you’ll have to cast the spell and dodge his next attack.
Before you know it, you’ll have whittled his health all the way down, and your reflexes and battle skills will have increased dramatically. Make sure to take breaks, especially if you see your skill starts to plummet. Taking breaks refreshes your muscle memory, and you’ll be even better the next time around!
