How to beat Ghost Ships in Sea of Thieves Haunted Shores

First, you should know there are two different ways you can encounter Ghost Ships in the new Haunted Shores update. You can find Ghost Ships from the Burning Blade world event, which you will know is happening from Flameheart’s skull in the sky. Second is through the new Order of Souls voyages. To easily defeat this encounter, you will need to make you stock your ship, and your crew knows what to do. It will also help if you have some basic strategy. We’ll tell you everything you need to know here.

For the Burning Blade event, you should have a lot of projectiles in stock. We are talking about maybe two-hundred or more cannonballs, firebombs, and blunderbombs. You will also need about 100 planks and A LOT of food. If you’re encountering the Ghost Ships in the Order of Souls, you don’t need quite as many supplies.

Next up, you will need to assign everyone some roles, so you’re at least a little organized. One of the most critical tasks is having someone constantly repairing the ship. This person can also help with the cannons whenever necessary. Next, you need someone at the helm to position your ship, so it’s both safe and in a good position to fire off shots. The person at the helm should also be calling out the location of the Ghost Ships.

You are also going to need someone operating the cannons. This person will be in charge of shooting enemy ships with cannons, and they can also help out wherever necessary. You cannot ram or board Ghost Ships because, well, they’re ghosts! Communication is key, like all PvE encounters.

To bring down Ghost Ships, you need to hit them around three times with a cannonball, firebomb, or blunderbomb. It sounds easy, but there are a ton of Ghost Ships in the waters. Find a safe path to run through, and if things get bad, you can leave the area to repair and come back. Ghost Ships will attack you with Phantom, Wraith, or Flame Cannonballs that can knock your ship back, catch it on fire, and cause some severe damage.

Rewards for Beating Ghost Ships

Taking down Ghost Ships gives you Haunted Loot and Spooky Supplies. You can find these in the water easily by looking for the ghosts swarming around them. You can also find a Cannonball Crate of the Damned that contains Wraith Cannonballs, Phantom Cannonballs, or Flame Phantom Cannonballs. New Commendations and Achievements can also be unlocked from completing this encounter.

You can either complete this new encounter with your crew or team up with other ships. Taking on the challenge alone ensures you don’t need to split your bounty, though. That’s everything you need to know for how to beat Ghost Ships in the Sea of Thieves Haunted Shores update. Good luck out there!
