Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has finally arrived. But, due to an assortment of issues, players are finding it very difficult to enjoy the game. In fact, there seems to be a bizarre error that claims a player is being denied by the platform, which is — quite justifiably — infuriating gamers.

In this error, it specifically says that ‘a player that your platform denies permission to play with you has joined the game’ and then asks the player if they’d like to exit to the lobby. As of writing, there are no known fixes for this error. If you’re in need of an immediate fix, you can check the status of any known problems or bugs on the official Modern Warfare 2 Trello Board. In fact, despite this problem being known for over a week at the time of writing, there are very few success stories when it comes to fixing or reversing this odd error.

In fact, a Redditor via r/CODModernWarfare2022 claims they fixed it by “[leaving] the Xbox party and [moving] to MW2 channel,” but there are countless others who haven’t been so lucky.

Another user, this time via r/XboxSeriesS says they were “still facing the same issue. Glitches every time we try to play split screen. The second player always gets the error, even though we’ve switched off which user is in the first or second player screen.”

It could be that this is a problem that can only be solved by the development team at Infinity Ward. So, if you’re grappling with this perky problem, remember to exercise patience. It’s hardly the first issue present in Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2.0, but they will be ironed out over time.
