Earlier this month, there were leaks of some NBA skins making their way into Fortnite. It turns out this is part of a new Fortnite NBA crossover, appropriately named The Crossover. Epic Games’ latest collaboration comes just in time for the 2021 NBA Playoffs, with the league coming to Fortnite for the first time. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite NBA The Crossover event, including the start date, skins, and more.
Fortnite The Crossover Start Date
The Crossover Fortnite event begins on May 21, 2021, at 8 pm ET. During this time, players can represent any of the league’s thirty NBA teams by donning their in-game skin. The In The Paint set includes 31 total uniforms, including all 30 NBA teams.
Fortnite The Crossover Skins and Player Lockers
Players can choose any skins from the 30 NBA teams from the In The Paint set. The Shoot & Score pack is also available, including a Hookshot Emote and Mini Hoop Back Bling skin.
Additionally, Locker Bundles featuring personally selected skins from NBA stars Donovan Mitchell and Trae Young will also arrive in the item shop.
Donovan Mitchell Player Locker
Donovan’s Fortnite Locker features Cozy Chomps Outfit, Sharky Shawl Back Blind, Stark Splitter Pickaxe, Dynamic Fire Wrap, and the Fire Spinner Emote.
Trae Young Player Locker
Trae Young’s Fortnite Locker includes Scarlet Commander Outfit, Gold Digger Pickaxe, Happy Stars Wrap, and a Baller Emote.
Fortnite NBA Team Battles
As the NBA Playoffs tip-off in the coming week, The Crossover will heat up with a five-day competition featuring all thirty basketball teams. Fortnite NBA Team Battles goes live on May 19 through May 23. You can visit the NBA Team Battles official page to sign up and support your favorite team and have a shot to win some free in-game rewards and V-Bucks.
Lastly, NBA The Crossover is coming to Fortnite Creative in the coming week. We don’t have many details yet, but some more information is coming on the NBA Welcome Hub on Tuesday, May 25.
