Where to Find the Slime Boss in Core Keeper

It’s important to note that everyone’s world is randomly generated in Core Keeper. For that reason, we cannot give you an exact location of where to find the Slime Boss. However, it’s always within a short radius of your main base. It is generally never too far away, and you can hear the audio cue of a giant blob jumping up and down to know you’re getting close to its location.

How to Beat the Slime Boss in Core Keeper

To defeat the Slime Boss in Core Keeper, come prepared with the following recommended items:

  • Tin Sword
  • Full Copper Armor (Helm, Pants, Chest)
  • Movement Speed Food
  • Healing Potions

You can defeat the Slime Boss with probably an infinite number of setups, but this is what we’d recommend at a minimum. The Tin Sword is essential because a basic copper sword does not do enough damage, period. It is possible, but it will be a lengthy fight without the Tin Sword. The Tin Sword does double the damage (74-90 melee damage) of a Copper Sword. Other viable options include ranged weapons like a Musket or a Slingshot.

Next, you’ll want to make yourself a full set of Copper Armor, which will run you about 30 Copper Bars. You will be able to accumulate this number of bars in maybe twenty minutes of digging around. The health boost this gives you will be essential for surviving any hits the Slime Boss may happen to land on you.

Another crucial item is movement speed food. A good type of food to bring with you would be Mushy Pepper Wraps. The wraps grant +25% movement speed for a minute, as well as health regeneration every second for 20 seconds. You can get this by combining a Mushroom and a Bomb Pepper. You can also bring Hearty Pepper Wraps for additional movement speed and maximum health. You can make Hearty Pepper Wraps by combining the Bomb Pepper and a Heart Berry in the Cooking Pot.

Slime Boss Mechanics

The Slime Boss area is covered in slime. You can use your shovel to get rid of some slime and give you a safe escape route. Ground slime slows your movement speed a bit, which could end up getting you killed. After clearing out some area and getting rid of some small slimes, it’s time to start the fight.

The entire Slime Boss fight consists of it jumping at you. It has enough of a delay between jumps that you can squeeze in one or two attacks between each jump. If the Slime Boss jumps on you, it hurts, so avoid that at all costs. With your movement speed buffs from the food, you can circle the boss and repeatedly sneak in one or two attacks each time.

At about one-third health, the Slime Boss will enrage. The enraged state makes it jump faster and possibly do more damage on contact. That’s the gist of the fight.

After defeating the Slime Boss, it will drop a Chest containing the Slime Oil, an Ancient Gemstone, Copper, Tin, and the Glurch Eye. You’ll also notice an NPC that you can buy and sell stuff from, and if you want, the NPC can also move into your base if you build him a room!

There you have it—that’s how to beat the Slime Boss, Glurch the Abominous, in Core Keeper!
