There is a way to skip the lockpicking minigame in Hogwarts Legacy – but not everyone has access to it. If you’re playing on the game’s Story Difficulty mode, you’ll be able to skip the lockpicking minigame once you interact with it.

The Story Difficulty mode is for those more interested in Hogwarts Legacy’s world and story as opposed to combat and gameplay. Along with letting you skip lockpicking, it also does things like make combat remarkably easier.

That being said, unless you’re playing on this difficulty, there’s no way to skip it. If you’re the type of player that enjoys a bit of challenge with your combat, playing on Story Difficulty could potentially ruin your playthrough. It’s hardly a solution for those out there that don’t want to waste any more time picking locks.

If you’re a PC player, though, you might be in luck. While there’s nothing out at the time of writing, it’s likely that a mod that skips lockpicking in Hogwarts Legacy will be released at some point in the future. It’s a quality-of-life upgrade waiting to happen, so make sure you stay up-to-date on the mod scene if that’s something you’re interested in.
