While we had a look at the new weapons from the game and wildcards you can equip, we also got a look at the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War field upgrades that you can utilize. For those not familiar, field upgrades are a piece of equipment that you can use at any time by pressing X or LB + RB on the controller. After using it, you’ll have to wait for the cooldown to finish before you can use it again.

At the moment, there are six field upgrades available in Black Ops Cold War. You will already be familiar with some of them if you’re a Call of Duty veteran. The field upgrade cooldowns range from one minute and twenty seconds to three minutes and forty-five seconds. Let’s take a look.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Field Upgrades

Here’s a list of all Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War field upgrades in the game right now:

  • Field Mic
  • Gas Mine
  • Jammer
  • Proximity Mine
  • SAM Turret
  • Trophy System

Field Mic

The Field Mic allows you to see enemy locations on your minimap by recording any sound in the deployed area. The total recharge time is 3 minutes, 15 seconds.

Gas Mine

The Gas Mine is a proximity-based trap that releases a large cloud of gas, damaging and disorienting all targets that go inside of it. It recharges every 2 minutes.

Jammer

The Jammer disrupts any enemy electronics on the field, briefly disabling enemy field upgrades, minimap vision, and other electronic devices. This field upgrade recharges every 2 minutes, 30 seconds.

Proximity Mine

The Proximity Mine is an explosive device that blows up whenever an enemy or vehicle runs it over or gets close enough to it. Enemies can avoid this field upgrade by crouching. This one recharges every 2 minutes.

SAM Turret

The SAM turret launches missiles to eliminate airborne enemy killstreaks and enemy helicopters controlled by players. It may be smart for someone in your squad to utilize this field upgrade as an anti-aircraft weapon. SAM Turrets have the longest field upgrade cooldown, at 3 minutes, 45 seconds.

Trophy System

Trophy System is a well-known piece of equipment to Call of Duty players, and it’s no different in Cold War. This item destroys any enemy equipment, grenades, and missiles within ten meters of it. Trophy Systems have the shortest cooldown at 1 minute, 20 seconds.
