I’ve heard that squid ink is a deceptively tasty ingredient, great for doughy dishes like pasta. That said, I’m not a hundred percent sure of the viability of squid ink as a dessert component. Maybe that’s one of the reasons Cookie Run Kingdom’s Squid Ink Cookie is in a state of seemingly perpetual sobbing. Well, even if they aren’t tasty, they can be powerful! Here are the best Squid Ink Cookie toppings builds in Cookie Run Kingdom.

Squid Ink’s regular skill is Ink Tentacle Slap. It’s a simple attack in which they unleash a series of high-speed tentacle slaps, dealing area damage. Here are the specifics of it:
- 16 second base Cooldown
- Single hit DMG: 37.4% (+0.4-0.5% DMG per level)
With the power of a Magic Candy, Ink Tentacle Slap evolves into Abyssal Tentacles. While the general idea is similar to the base version, Abyssal Tentacles unleashes even more tentacle slaps at higher damage. Not only that, but any opponent hit by hit receives a defense debuff, and if anyone already has a defense debuff, they take even more damage. Here are the specifics of Abyssal Tentacles:
- 16 second base Cooldown
- Ink Tentacle Slap: +3 slaps, total of 10 slaps
- Extra Skill DMG (Cookies): 5.0%
- Extra Skill DMG (Others): 16.6%
- DEF Reduction: -20.0% for 10.0 sec; stacks up to x1
- Extra DMG to DEF-reduced Targets: +15.0%
The Deep Dark
Whether you’re using Ink Tentacle Slap or Abyssal Tentacles (preferably the latter), the name of the game is raw DPS. You want Squid Ink to deal as much damage as physically possible as quickly as possible. As such, there are two ways we can swing their Toppings: Searing Raspberry or Swift Chocolate.
Searing Raspberry boosts a Cookie’s base attack stat, with a full set of five providing a +5% attack buff. Squid Ink’s skills are pretty strong by default, but it certainly never hurts to put a little extra zest on top of them.
Swift Chocolate, on the other hand, reduces a Cookie’s cooldowns, allowing them to use their skills sooner. A full set of five provides a +5% cooldown reduction. Squid Ink’s skills have a pretty long cooldown, so cutting that downtime down could prove to be the DPS nudge you’re looking for.
In this case, the ideal configurations would be either a full set of Swift Chocolate for maximum cooldown reduction or a pick-and-mix of Chocolate and Raspberry for a little extra attack and a little extra cooldown. Tinker with the ratio a bit to get it the way you like.
With the right Toppings, Squid Ink Cookie can be a full-on magic nuker, annihilating the opposition with a storm of salty tentacles. Rather fitting, since both tears and squid ink are quite salty.
