There are a couple of things you can do to win a race in Alphabet Lore Race. Like stated before, the amount of wins you have collected will determine the speed of your character, but how exactly? You see, before any race you will have a 10-second countdown in which you will have to click the screen as fast as possible in order to increase your bottom and top speed. Collecting wins between races by completing race stretches and winning races in general, will increase the speed points per click during the pre-race countdown. For example, if you have 30 wins, each click will amount to 3 speed points, triplicating the amount you gain per click.
One can only imagine the possibilities of having more Wins in your collection. Just be sure to not let your character run without any supervision, there are obstacles in the race that will effectively kill your character if left unchecked. Finally, there are some players that use auto-clickers to max out their pre-race speed, but I suggest refraining from doing so since the developers could possibly patch things up to prevent it from happening or adopt some anti-cheat mechanism.
