All Trine Games Ranked from Worst to Best

Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power

Trine 3 wasn’t necessarily a bad game, but it was definitely a letdown to many hardcore fans of the series. This game was littered with plot holes, bugs, and witless jokes, and had an unapologetically half-baked storyline that was blander than a European’s spice cabinet.

To be fair, this game still stayed true to the core values of every Trine game; it had puzzles galore, fantastical landscapes and environments, and followed the adventures of the series’ three main beloved characters: Amadeus, Zoya, and Ser Pontius. As previously mentioned, this game really isn’t that bad, but it’s far from the best as far as Trine games go.

Trine 2: Complete Story

Sequels are rarely considered better than their predecessors, but Trine 2 very nearly made it! This game is widely considered to be one of the better options of the 4 available Trine games, and it’s easy to understand why once you start playing it.

This game is crammed full of deliriously mind-bending physics-based puzzles and gorgeous fantastical landscapes. In addition to this, Trine 2 features online multiplayer capabilities and has an actually engaging storyline that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat!

There are few things that are better than the first installment of a series, and Trine is no exception! If you want the true Trine experience, then there’s no better game to play than the original Trine game. If you’re new to the whole “Trine-verse”, then this game will absolutely blow you away!

For a 2D scroller game, Trine does an exemplary job of fully immersing its players in the action; you genuinely feel as if you were part of the adventure! This game’s puzzles aren’t anything to scoff at, but they’re hardly unbeatable, which is perfect for those who are just getting into the series! Seriously, if you want to play the “Trine-ist” Trine game, then you have to start with the OG.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince

It’s rare for sequels to be considered better than their predecessors, especially when it’s the 4th edition of the series, but Trine 4 somehow managed it! Usually, the quality of games begins to decline the longer a series is in action, but you won’t find a better quality Trine game than Trine 4!

The graphics and fantastical environments in this game are absolutely breathtaking. If you want to play a game whose graphics are constantly distracting and enchanting you with their bedazzling beauty, then you need to get your hands on Trine 4! Furthermore, Trine 4 features a much smoother gameplay experience than its predecessors, with state-of-the-art controls and mechanics.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy (Coming Soon)
