Gotta get my shields up!

If you’re anything like me, then there’s been nothing over the last 24 hours that’s been stealing your time more than the newly implemented Fortnite’s Chapter 4 Season 1 update. There really is a ton to unpack about what Fornite now offers players on its brand-new island, and it’s almost too much to even keep track of at this point.

But one of the criminally underrated aspects of this new season and update is the fantastic new health items that players can pick up in order to treat themselves or their teammates in order to keep the fight going. So if you’re interested in staying alive a bit longer, let’s talk about all of the new health items in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, as well as how they actually work.

Though there are many health items returning to the fray in Fortnite’s fourth chapter, there are 3 new health items that can be picked up and used in order to keep you on the battlefield and away from the reboot van. They’re each very easy to find as they’re pretty much everywhere at this point of the season. Let’s jump into each one and how they work!

  • Slap Berries – A refreshing fruit to pick from the ground, Slap Berries will give you some much-needed health or shield boost if you’re maxed on health, and will also give you a short-term unlimited Energy regen in order to give you a leg up on the competition. These are orange and yellow in color and are found in most wooded areas.
  • Slap Juice – Slap Juice is actually pretty similar to potions in the fact that you can just pick it up and give it a swig. It too helps with both health and shields, but in a stronger way than a Slurp Berry would. The effects on Energy also last much longer. These can be found in most looting locations, especially within chests and coolers.
  • Sky Jellies – These blue beauties are actually Jelly Fish that float around in the sky. They can typically be found in herds of sorts, moving around the island. Not only will they increase your health and/or shield, but they will also give you a buffed bounce effect to help you get around places.

So, that’s really everything you’ll need to know about all of the new health items in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, as well as how to use them. Be sure to check out some of our other great guides on this humongous chapter, such as “How to Mantle in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1”.
