All Melee Weapon Locations Sons Of The Forest

Sons of the Forest (at least in its Early Access iteration) features fifteen different melee weapons with which you can smash, stab, slash, and otherwise maim any cannibal or mutant that looks at you funny. Additionally, many of these weapons also have practical applications, such as crafting new objects, cutting down foliage, and more. Even if you don’t use them to bean cannibals upside the head, you never know when they’ll come in handy.

It’s a rock. Pick one up off the ground. Boom, there you go.

Tactical Axe and Utility Knife

These two weapons are both found inside the Emergency Pack that you start the game with.

Crafted Club

You can craft one of these grisly knockers from a Rope, a Skull, and a Stick.

Crafted Spear

Better a pointy stick than a regular one. You can craft one of these with 2 Sticks, a roll of Duct Tape, and your Utility Knife.

Crafted Torch

Light the way and light suckers up. You can craft a Torch with a Stick and a Cloth. You’ll have to find a source of fire separately.

Bone

Better for crafting, but can be used as a cudgel in a pinch. Bones can occasionally be found inside caves, and are dropped by burned bodies.

Shovel

Good for digging and for smacking. It’s found in the center of the map, but you’ll need a Rebreather and a Rope Gun to get to it. Here’s a more detailed guide on finding the Shovel.

Modern Axe

Bigger and stronger than the little tactical axe. The Modern Axe can be found at a derelict campsite near the base of the snowy mountain. Here’s a more detailed guide on finding the Modern Axe.

Guitar

The power of rock compels you! The Guitar is found in a bunker on the west side of the island, past a small entranceway that you’ll need a Maintenance Keycard to unlock. Inside, follow the illuminated path until you find a small club, where the Guitar is on the counter.

Chainsaw

Great for chopping trees and pulping cannibals. The Chainsaw can be found in the same bunker where you find the Guitar, shoved in a guy’s chest near the entrance to the cinema.

Fire Axe

Rescue-grade axe, not so good for chopping stuff, but hits like a truck. This axe can be found in another bunker on the northwest side of the island. You’ll need to locate a dig site with an abandoned golf cart, then use a Shovel to dig up the way down. You’ll find the Fire Axe mounted on a tool wall within.

Katana

Swift and deadly, the Katana can dice up punks before they even know what hit them. It can be found in another bunker located at a green map point on the southeast of the island. You’ll need a Maintenance Keycard to get into the bunker at the end of a cave, after which you’ll find the Katana on proud display in the middle of the room.

Golf Putter

Yes, a 9-iron would be better, but let’s not be picky. You can actually get three different putters around the island, including in the same bunker you found the Katana, but the easiest one to get is in the bed of an abandoned golf cart on the golf course on the island’s northeastern end.

Stun Baton

Put a shock to their systems! This electric prod can be found wedged into a pile of skulls outside of the cave where you find the Rope Gun, located on the western part of the island. You may hear it as you approach; it’ll automatically zap any squirrels or birds that come near it.

Having a diverse array of melee weapons is a great way to meet any potential situations that may arise in Sons of the Forest. Who knows when you may need to put on an impromptu rock concert, for instance?
