Who is the cover star of FIFA 22?

Back in April, we made some predictions about who would be the cover star of EA Sports’ upcoming FIFA 22. Today, EA has finally revealed who the next cover star will be for the next installment. The cover star is someone we already anticipated, but it still manages to come as a surprise, considering the circumstances. So, who is the cover star of FIFA 22?

As per our predictions, we figured the possibilities were either Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, or Trent Alexander-Arnold. Of course, potential runner-ups that would have also made sense include Harry Kane and Neymar.

Who is the cover star of FIFA 22?

The cover star of FIFA 22 is Kylian Mbappé, the Paris Saint-German star. Mbappé delivered a world-class performance in 2021, adding to his already impressive record that includes 3 Ligue 1 titles, 2 Coupe de France titles, and the Ligue1 Player of the Year award two years running. And all this at just twenty-two years of age.

EA Sport’s cover star selection makes Kylian Mbappé the first repeat cover athlete since Cristiano Ronaldo on FIFA 18 and FIFA 19.

The French star plays for Paris Saint-German, one of the leading teams in the world. He’s also been touted as one of the most consistent players in football, despite PSG falling a bit short of the Ligue 1 title to Lille. But on his own, Mbappé managed to bring home 27 goals in the 31 Ligue 1 matches.

At this time, we have no official FIFA 22 release date, but fans can gear up for early access in a few months. And, if you’re lucky, you can get into the closed beta even earlier, though there are some requirements for consideration.

According to the Tweet from the EA Sports FIFA account, we can also expect a “game-changing reveal” on July 11, so stay tuned.
