However, one game mode that has been the constant victim of neglect is FIFA’s Career Mode. However, the good news for fans of the popular game mode is that this could be changing very soon (if you believe the suggested reports). EA reveals possible “Online Career Mode” for FIFA 22
FIFA Career Mode has always been one of the more popular offline game modes, but limiting players to competing against the CPU (rather than online opponents/friends), is a major miss by the franchise.
It sounds as though this archaic idea may now be a thing of the past, with FIFA 22 recently posting a job listing for an “Online Software Engineer.”
Being that FIFA typically only makes slight improvements to their online gameplay, this could indicate more focus being directed towards this department in FIFA 22. The language used in the actual job description suggests that EA is planning to reveal an “Online Career Mode” at some point in the near future.
The job title officially states: “As an Online Software Engineer, you will help build our networked play development team. Whether that be in our online Career Mode, Ultimate Team, or core online systems/protocols”.
While all of this is mostly speculation, it would undoubtedly be a worthwhile investment for the popular gaming franchise. Even the fact that “Online Career Mode” is mentioned directly in the job description leaves football fanatics giddy over the potential for a much-needed overhaul.
While there is no definitive answer as to whether or not FIFA 22 will offer an Online Career Mode, the report should at the very least leave fans hopeful for the future of the franchise.
