Koroks were a beloved feature of Breath of the Wild, so it’s understandable that fans would want to know if they were going to be featured in Tears of the Kingdom as well. Keep reading to find out how many Koroks will be featured in Tears of the Kingdom!
How Many Koroks Are There to Find in Tears of the Kingdom?
Koroks, also known as the “Forest Spirits” in Zelda lore, are a race of wooden, tree-like people who were leaf masks over their faces. They’re featured in many Zelda games, but are most prominently featured in Breath of the Wild and now in Tears of the Kingdom. Koroks are peaceful beings that are incredibly useful in Tears of the Kingdom, due to their proclivity to hand out Korok Seeds to worthy players.
At this time, it is currently unknown exactly how many Koroks reside in Tears of the Kingdom. However, we can make an educated guess based on the number of Koroks that were featured in the previous game, Breath of the Wild, and by the information that can be gleaned from the game itself.
In Breath of the Wild, there were a whopping total of 900 Koroks. Since Koroks serve a similar purpose in Tears of the Kingdom as in Breath of the Wild, it’s extremely likely that there will be around the same amount.
What do Koroks do in Tears of the Kingdom?
As previously mentioned, Koroks serve a similar purpose in Tears of the Kingdom as they did in Breath of the Wild. In Breath of the Wild, Koroks were used to gain Korok Seeds, which could then be traded with Hestu for increased inventory space.
Although there were a total of 900 Koroks in Breath of the Wild, it only took 441 Korok Seeds to max out your entire inventory space. If you went ahead and collected the remaining 459 Korok Seeds anyway, however, you’d be able to trade them all into Hestu for a special item called Hestu’s Gift.
Since it’s been confirmed that Hestu is indeed in Tears of the Kingdom and you’ll be able to trade Korok Seeds with him for increased inventory space, it’s extremely likely that you’ll be able to receive another special gift from him if you manage to collect every Korok Seed in the game (just like in Breath of the Wild).
Just like in Breath of the Wild, you’ll be able to gain Korok Seeds from Koroks simply by completing puzzles and by weaseling yourself into hard-to-reach places (like mountaintops or caves) in Tears of the Kingdom.
