Is Cayde-6 Coming Back in Destiny 2: Lightfall?

Don't Get Your Hopes Up.

It can be hard to say goodbye. On September 4, 2018, the world was preparing to say hello to Destiny 2: Forsaken. But, much to their unawares, they were also about to say farewell to a beloved character who would be making their grand exit in that expansion. Cayde-6 (played by the likes of both Nathan Fillion and Nolan North) met his end at the hands of Uldren Sov.

It’s no surprise that there are whispers among the community that in the latest expansion, Lightfall, we could possibly be reacquainted with the robotic Guardian. Let’s address that now, before the rumors become too much to handle. Read on to learn if we will see Cayde-6 in Destiny 2: Lightfall.

Is Cayde-6 Coming Back in Destiny 2: Lightfall?

No. In Destiny 2: Forsaken, Cayde-6 met his ultimate fate at the hands of Uldren Sov. To make matters infinitely worse, he couldn’t be revived because his robotic Ghost companion was also destroyed. So, the chances of Bungie re-introducing the character after that are practically none. Besides — given how the Forsaken expansion dealt primarily with avenging Cayde-6, and how the key visual dominantly featured the player character holding Cayde-6’s corpse, it wouldn’t make narrative sense to bring him back.

But, who knows? I could be wrong and they might have plans to do just that. And, if they do … we’ll make sure to update this page accordingly.
