A lot of Hogwarts Legacy fans are wondering whether or not you can play ‘Haunted Hogsmede’ on PC. This PlayStation timed-exclusive quest gives you access to your own shop in Hogsmede. It’s already available for PS5, but Xbox and PC players are going to have to wait a full year to get their hands on it. Or will they?
Hogwarts Legacy was immediately modded upon release – with many of the game’s locked files being opened within a few days. Some of these files pertained to the ‘Haunted Hogsmede’ quest. This led some players to believe that it would be possible to add the quest to the game early. We’re here to dive into that possibility, and explain whether or not you can play it on PC.

Can You Play ‘Haunted Hogsmede’ on Hogwarts Legacy for PC?
Unfortunately, you cannot play ‘Haunted Hogsmede’ on Hogwarts Legacy for PC right now. Shortly after the game came out, modders managed to dig into Hogwarts Legacy’s game files on PC. Within the PC version of the game, they found the files related to ‘Haunted Hogsmede’. This has led some to believe that a PC version of the quest would be moddable at some point.
Those files were locked initially, which is generally a major hurdle to not only restoring content but modding games in general. However, modders managed to access the file. This, however, led to more disappointment as it was discovered not only were there missing assets and internal files related to the quest, but that the game’s first update actually removed even more.
So, for the time being, it looks like you can’t play ‘Haunted Hogsmede’ for Hogwarts Legacy on PC. The quest will unlock for all platforms in February of 2024, and it’s fairly unlikely we’ll see a modded version of the quest before then.
Hogwarts Legacy – What do You Get for Completing ‘Haunted Hogsmede’?
What do you even get for finishing the quest? Well, you gain access to your own shop in Hogsmede. You can’t decorate this shop like the Room of Requirement – but you can pick a name for it from a list (the sign outside changes to reflect it).
In reality, this shop is just like an extra vendor. It comes with a House Elf called Penny to whom you can give your gear. She’s apparently a great salesperson, so she gets you 10% better prices on all your items.
That’s all you really get for completing ‘Haunted Hogsmede’, though. No matter how fancy the game makes it fell – it’s just a vendor that gives you 10% better prices when you sell to them – you can’t even buy anything from Penny.
