Chained Echoes The Gates to Nhysa Side Quest Guide

With so many Side Quests now unlocked as you progressed through the main story of Chained Echoes, where do you start? You have hopefully at this point obtained the Airship and have made proper use of the Sky Armor. Now is the time to gain rewards and beat the Side Quests of this JRPG adventure. This is our guide on how to beat ‘The Gates of Nhysa’ Side Quest in Chained Echoes.

How to Access ‘The Gates of Nhysa’ Side Quest

Players are first required to complete the Main Questline titled ‘Searching for a Princess’. This will result in the recruitment of Princess Amalia and reward you with many Side Quests for you to attempt. Including that of ‘The Gates of Nhysa’. At this point in the game you will have unlocked the Airship and a long list of Side Quests which you can beat. To find this Side Quest you need to first find Maddeleine. She is located in Hermit’s Isle, on the eastern shores. By interacting with her you will wake her up and after speaking, she will give you the quest you are looking for.

‘The Gates of Nhysa’ Side Quest Guide

The main objective for now is simply enough, head over to Ogrotto Grove via Rohlan Fields. You can fast travel to the northern teleport spot on the map. The button to use to open your teleport map is shown at the bottom of the screen once you open the map. Teleport to the north side of Rohlan Fields and immediately enter your Sky Armor. Head west, going to the edge of the screen and crossing over the loading screen into the next part of the map. From here, head south-west where you will see a Waterfall. There is a platform for you to stand on underneath the far right Waterfall where you can enter Ograne Grotto via entering through the Waterfall by walking north.

Alternatively, if you have already entered Ograne Grotto, you can use the Transport Crystal to go to the northern Crystal inside the dungeons. Refer to the screenshot below of where you need to go via Ograne Grotto map. Now inside Ograne Grotto, you need to get to this specific Crystal on the map.

The Dungeons

By going through the Waterfall entrance, you will need to dungeon crawl and fight through enemies. You need to keep heading north. Refer to your map on where you need to go. This will eventually take you to a boss fight where Maddeleine will give you a Incocybin Berry that you need to give to the Tadeye in the fight just north of where she stands.

Use the Berry immediately in the fight to beat the Tadeye. This will make it weak to your attacks making it much easier to defeat the beast. The reward for killing the Tadeye is a Long Tail. After the fight continue heading north until eventually entering some Ruins.

The Ruins Lever Locations

You need to find three levers to pull which are located in three separate Regions. Refer to screenshots below for exact locations of each lever inside the Regions. The lever locations are on the icon with an arrow. These are the locations of all levers:

Rohlan Fields

• Head to Rohlan Fields and enter the Sky Armor go across the terrains with speed. You need to go east from the Ograne Grotto Waterfall where you will find a giant hole (looks like a tear from an earthquake) in the ground. On the right side of the hole is a climbable wall down into Ograne Grotto. Enter the cavern and go left, ignoring the northern path. Keep going left until you see the path open out where you can walk to the right. Here you will see a Ruins entrance. Pull the lever inside.

Flower Fields of Perpetua

• The next lever to find in Flower Fields of Perpetua. Use the Transport Crystal on the west of the map and immediately head south in your Sky Armor. Pass over the loading screen taking you into the next portion of the map. The lever is found on an island separated from the other islands on the map. Here you will see a doorway into the Caves where the second lever is located.

Fiorwoods

• The last lever is found in Fiorwoods, just south of Tormund’s West Exit. If you fast-travel to this area and head down into Fiorwoods, you will find the lever on the western side of Fiorwoods. Go across the wooden platforms above the Woods, heading south-west until you cross over into the next section of Fiorwoods. You may need to fight two Wyrms if you have not already to enter the western Fiorwoods. The entrance to the Cave can be found just west of where the Wyrms spawn in.

With all 3 levers activated, return to the Ruins inside Ograne Grotto and speak to Maddeleine once more. The door to the Ruins will now be open, head north and take the elevator down. You will witness the final cutscene of the ‘Gates of Nhysa’. You have completed this Side Quest in Chained Echoes.
