Chained Echoes, released December 8th, 2022 has many weapons for players to unlock. Through finding them in secret locations, to purchasing them after Quest completion. These are some of the best weapons you can get in the game. Including that of the Masamune Katana, also known as the Rusty Katana. The Two-Winged Angel Side Quest
Before you can purchase the Masamune, you need to first complete the Side Quest titled ‘Two-Winged Angel’. There are steps to accessing this Side Quest however. These are that you must first complete the Main Quest ‘Glenn’s Mind’. This is one of the last Main Quests in Chained Echoes. It is a very unique quest for the setting in which it takes place inside Glenn’s mind itself. His mind splits from the trauma of his past where yourself and your clan must enter using the help of Magnolia to invade his mind and piece it back together once more for Glenn to return to your party. The quest ends with battling the Chained Echo, with difficult moves to counter.

Once this Main Quest is completed, the Two-Winged Angel Side Quest will become available. This Side Quest can be found in a northern alleyway of New Wyrnshire, near the passage to Wyrnshire Castle. You will receive this quest from the blonde male labelled as ‘Townfolk’. These are the steps to completing this questline.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Head to the house, south of where you spoke to the man who gave you the quest. Inside there is a black market which you will be escorted into.
- Walk to the north-west corner of the room to find the Merchant sitting in the corner, wearing a blue bandana. He will point you towards finding Norgant who lives in Kortara Mountain Range.
- Fast-travel to Kortara Mountain Range via the region fast travel icon on the southern side of the map.
- Use the Sky Armor to get to the fort in the central area of the Mountain Range.
- You need to sneak into fort by going past the sentry at the gate and head into the Caves on the right of the screen.
- From here, you will not be able to see your character. What you need to do is hug the wall on your left and walk south-west. Walking beneath the tents over the fort and continuing west. You will eventually walk out of the Caves on the left side of the gate.
- Climb up and head north following the path of debris round to the centre of the fort. There is a sentry in front of you, wait until he is facing north for you to run past him.
- Turn left after crossing the northern path, avoiding the two sentries at the tent. Pick up Norgant’s Key from the Chest.
- Head east, to the other side of the fort. Wait until the two guards are not looking in your direction to run past. Use the Key on the door just north-east of the two guards.
- Inside the Caves, take the path on the left to see the cutscene meeting up with the clan. Head north to reach the top of the tower to find the Seraph Armor.
Speak to Norgant at the centre of the fort to pay 50,000 Arc for the Seraph Armor. This will end this Two-Winged Angel Quest.
How to Get the Rusty Katana in Chained Echoes
After completing the Two-Winged Angel Side Quest, Norgant will add the Rusty Katana to his stock available for purchase. You can buy this for 9999 Arc from Norgant who will be waiting in the centre of the fort like he always is. The Rusty Katana will not be available if you do not complete the ‘Two-Winged Angel’ Side Quest, so keep that in mind before paying Norgant a visit in Kortara Mountain Range.
